O Libelloides coccajus é un neuróptero de ata 25 mm de lonxitude y 52 de envergadura. Pola súa forma e conducta lembra unha bolboreta; porén, súas ás, que non levan escamas, son transparentes, amarelas no primeiro terzo esterno e pardoescuras na face anterior. Ten o corpo cheo de vello mouro.
