zhu' Movie Review:Seven Pounds (2008), Self-salvation

This is a movie that requires some patience to watch. The lengthy story of the first 100 minutes is quite boring and the rhythm is slow to make me crazy. I almost felt asleep when I was watching this movie. I even secretly cursing what the director is talking about.  I think if it is not a high score recommendation, I am afraid that this film has been thrown into the rotten pile by me. But when Tim Thomas called his friend in the rain, "It's time. I love you." The story gradually began to clear. When all the truth are clearly explained, and the last piano sounded, and the woman looked at Ezra’s eyes, she found that she had burst into tears and could not help herself. When I watched it again and revisited it, I revisited every detail in the movie to truly show the story.

If Tim's intentional suicide was to complete self-salvation because of the unbearable lightness of life, then the final suicide of Tim Thomas is more like rebirth. In order to regenerate the one he love, it is unbearable weight in life. When the film begins, when he examines the life of others as an outsider and decides to end his life, it is largely due to his guilt. Because there is no love, and because the heart is as gray. Because of love, He wants to end with death. But when he really participated in Emily's life, because of love, he would feel that the world would be so worthy of nostalgia.

Watching him rushing to tears in the rain, and finally making up his mind, I think that at that moment how much courage is needed. I think the death at this time may be more meaningful to him. I don't know if a person is qualified to put himself in such a sad and sorrowful way to judge a person's good or bad or to decide a person's life and death, but I know that if a person has a life to worry about, he dares to face death, that is Really brave.

I have to say that Will Smith, because of this film, successfully subverts my consistent impression of him. Before this, I thought him as a famous action star. However, this film made me realize a different Will Smith. Maybe you will say that this movie is too dull, maybe you will say that this movie is too sloppy, but I just want to say that this is a story worthy of listening to it for a few times, because everything is just for the last 20 minutes. .
