This is my second or third attempt to modify the HTML code to customize the footer text so that it meets the Steempress guidelines and at the same time it doesn't look messy with a very long URL
Below is the example of the original footer HTML code and the result

You can agree with me that the result is workable which shows the original URL but it really looks messy as this URL captures the Chinese blog post. Even for an English Blog post with a very long title, Wordpress will capture the title into the URL and it will be very long too. It is as messy as this Chinese blog post URL though.
If the Original URL is in English and it is relatively short, it will still look professional but not for a long English URL or a Chinese Title though. As such, this modification of the footer URL is considered an undesirable result

Hi @digitalmind! I just started testing out SteemPress too but it didn't work for me at all. I need to look to see what's getting in the way but I haven't got back to it.
I agree the URL is too long, but did you know you can change the URL of your post in Wordpress? That might help. People usually do that to help with SEO but it makes for shorter URLs depending on what you change it to.
Unfortunately I don't know HTML enough to help you find another solution, but I'll be following to see if you do!
Thanks for dropping by. Yes. You can edit the title at the title section in the post editor itself. It is quite straight forward.
For now, I have modified the footer to the way I wanted it.

I have been testing the SteemPress for almost a week with about 10 posts now. So, far, it performed what is supposed to do especially for the customize footed. Although I have little knowledge to modify the footer code even further, the default is most suitable for most users, I believed.
I am doing further testing now to verify the compatibility of the Wordpress Editor as the Steemit Editor
