Angelic Graffiti in Rome
In August 2023, my wife and I visited Rome. There was a lot of interesting stuff — many beautiful streets and buildings. If you're curious, you can google "streets and buildings in Rome." But I want to show just one photo. It's graffiti of a boy with angel wings on a yellow wall of one of the old buildings in Rome, likely related to street art, which is popular in the city and might be connected to the works of street artists aiming to express social or cultural ideas through the symbolism of their drawings. I couldn’t find the meaning of this graffiti online.
Such images are often interpreted as symbols of innocence and vulnerability, encapsulated within an urban environment. They can also invite the viewer to reflect on the connection between humanity and spirituality. Rome, as a center of art and religious motifs, is the perfect place for such works.
This graffiti might also reflect modern themes, such as freedom, purity, or protest against urbanization.
