Happy Araw ng Davao to all our Dabawenyos! The city government has prepared a lot of activites and we hope you got to enjoy them all.

Updated Venue for the Davao Meet-Up

While Davao was busy with the celebration, we were also busy making the final arrangements for the upcoming meet-up in Davao. We have concluded that the space in the venue where we originally planned to hold the meet-up would not be enough to accomodate all the 30 participants. Our friend, @jacinta.sevilla, took it upon herself to scout for other venues for us. After considering our budget, the space, and the food, we have decided to book Demitasse for April 7 at 1pm for 30 people.

Cafe Dematisse

According to their Facebook Page, this cafe is the perfect place to hang out. They boast of the right ambiance, great coffee, good food, and cakes that will satisfy our sweet tooth. It is a spacious coffee shop located at F. Torres Street in Davao City, which houses the 5 function rooms. We booked their Kassandra function room, which can accomodate up to 36 people. We can rent the place for 2 hours for ₱3000 plus ₱1000 for every succeeding hour. The cost of using their function room can be used as part of our payment for whatever we consume. Like all the previous meet-ups in the SteemPH Meet-Up Caravan, there will be no fees to join but since the budget is not unlimited, we can only cover a drink and a pastry/cake of your choice.

As with the previous meet-ups in the SteemPH Caravan, the objectives are:

• Start or improve engagement between existing Steemians located outside of Metro Manila
• Provide educational materials to improve existing Steemians' experience in the platform with the help of @steemnest
• Encourage Steemit promotion among existing Steemians by requiring them to bring a non-Steemian friend to the meet ups
• Explore community related events in each location to improve visibility for Steemit, and support @steemph's vision

Power Up Challenge Results

In our post, Calling All Davaoenos | New Initiatives: Featured Contents & Power-UP Brigade, we launched the Power-UP Brigade and posed a challenge for all Dabawenyos. It is an initiative that is meant to show how increasing the value of your upvotes will benefit you, your fellow Steemians, and the whole Steemit ecosystem. Initially, there were 5 participants who responded to the challenge - @chinitacharmer, @cordeta, @fukumineko, @jacinta.sevilla, @noellesevilla. After a week, @iamkuyaj asked to join the challenge. A week after that, @korinkrafting followed suit. To make it fair for everyone, the starting point for @iamkuyaj and @korinkrafting would be the dates they joined. Here are the results:

We pulled the information using @arcange's SQL. We rewarded a total of 10 SBDs to the 3 Steemians from Davao Region who garnered the most number of ADDED SP from February 12 to March 14. The rewards were sent from the account of our donor as you can see below:
