♨️TRANSPHOBIA in CEBU💢
Yesterday I read a post in facebook from a certain “Priscilla Dianne Daan” recounting the transphobic experience in Icon Car in Cebu.
She stated in her post that all transgender were denied entry and when she asked the security why they couldnt provide a solid reason
Most of the trans were denied to enter the establishment for no reason. I asked one of their bouncer in appropriate way if why trans cant get inside, and they cant even give me a concrete explanation and valid reason
She even tried asking for the manager but she was ignored. Now I cant be an expert on what happened but thats really foul from Icon’s part, thats transphobic and that takes us so many steps back from the freedom and open mindedness that the members of the LGBT community and its allies have been fighting.
Icon Bar needs to speak up about this because this will gain traction. Enough of this blind movement to deny people of their true self. Respect begets respect.
We cannot continue being like this, Philippines especially Cebu. We need to be moving forward with open eyes and accepting arms. Once in our lives we have been the outcast and we have been the odd one out, please let us relay the generosity and the kindness that was given to us and let us spread nothing but love.
