Supporting dapps and projects through beneficiariessteemCreated with Sketch.

A bug with Steemit.com recently got me back to using Steempeak.com and to tell you the truth I still don't know why I don't use SteemPeak as my default Steem front-end. I guess old habits die hard.

With this post I just wanted to encourage others to make posts where you'd place your favorite dapps or projects that you believe deserve more funding to continue doing what they do and further develop them. Steempeak is one of them I wanted to support today.

I may not have the biggest amount of curation I receive on my posts, I know it is way smaller than what the vote-traders are getting and that's all fine by me, I've been trying to remain genuine with my account for a long time. Even though curation is decreasing more and more there are still some users that have me on their auto-vote or curate my posts when they see them here and there and feel it deserves a bigger vote. I bet there are plenty of votes that do it for selfish reasons too, but what can you do.

As the blockchain keeps evolving it also keeps filtering out users over time, those who may have faked their numbers or pushed people to reward them knowing it may not be deserving may be seeing higher numbers short term but Steem that is earned through sweat and tears is harder to sell on the exchanges. That's how I feel at least, even though I know how underappreciated Steem is and many rely on it thus create a lot of sell pressure I always feel bad when I have to sell some of it and I always keep it in the back of my head that at some point I will turn these profits into more Steem, hopefully more than what I could've made by staying powered up and hopefully before it's too late and the sell orders dry up. :)

Anyway, so with this post I was originally planning on setting @steempeak and @steemchiller's steemworld.org as 50/50 beneficiary but I ended up writing more than I planned so I'll leave a small percentage for myself as well. I hope the people that usually support my posts will be supporting these donation posts as well. If you want to know more dapps and projects I support I guess taking a look at my witness votes would be a good source. :)

In the future though I'm looking to make more posts with full beneficiaries going to certain dapps or projects I believe deserve the rewards. Please check out steempeak.com and steemworld.org, really great and crucial apps to have for Steem. @steemchiller should turn his weekly support post into a daily one instead. Thanks @steempeak for making it so easy for us regular users to add beneficiaries to our posts!

Let me know if you're doing similar posts and I'll try use some of my daily voting power towards that!

SteemPeak has a lot of really good features you just don't get with the Steemit front end.

Beneficiaries, is one, for sure. The ability to save drafts and create templates for basic info you might use in multiple posts (footers, gaming templates, etc.) is also very useful — often have an idea but only enough time for a quick note, not for the finished post.

Steempeak is one of the very few places you can bring up the entire list of witnesses, not just the top 100.

Used with the "drafts" feature, you can also schedule posts... great if you're heading out for a weekend but still want to post something every day.

Nice recap. Glad to see the list. You been using SNIPPETS? It's my new favorite even better than templates/footers/signatures etc.

Steempeak? I may have to check that out! I am looking for a better front end for the pc than steemit for making posts with lots of pics and links and media.

I will have to check that out thanks!

I love steemworld, @tasteem, and of course @partiko

Steempeak is definitely worth checking. Been using it for months as my main front end. I barely even use Steemit anymore.

Check it out, has a working notification and a lot of other cool things. :)

Hey, @acidyo.

I very much agree with you—steempeak and steemworld are both dApps worthy of more rewards and support. I still tend to use steemit though for different things, but since ads showed up, the steemchiller extension i was using has been broken and so posting on steemit is no longer to my liking. Since steempeak sets the editor and the preview side by side, it's nice to see what's happening in markdown without scrolling up and down to make changes.

I think the idea of putting beneficiaries on select posts is a good one, too. We might not have the hundreds of thousands or millions of SP others do, but those who are plankton to small dolphins can still figure out way to support the tools and dApps we use every day. Thanks for this post.

I still use Steemit too. Going to check out steempeak out now though. I didn't really think about the beneficiaries in this way before but you are right they do need the support.

Beneficiaries are a super powerful but underutilized tool. Too often we see forced beneficiaries and don't realize we can do some awesome things and make a difference with optional beneficiaries.

in china, we have a greatest wall. so many people can't visit steemit.com now.
Steempeak is another way to join steem.
And we use another dapp @wherein .

Does steempeak.com work in china? I'm guessing they blocked most steem sites.

block steemit.com and api.steemit.com only.
so we can't use steemconnect in china.

report... under the wall.
it is because steempeak need steemconnect, so chinese steemian can't login in china.

Time for new habits to replace the old ones ;)

Welcome back... we missed you!! ;)

I'm dropping a test comment here to try to reproduce an issue that you reported 🙂

Thanks, I knew there were other "front-ends" for Steemit, but did not know about Steempeak, will check it out this weekend ! :)

Great choices to support as they have been great developers working hard to create value for the ecosystem! SteemWorld is definitely a key tool of serious about growing on the platform!
