Maybe not everyone has seen, that @mys has changed probability of events happening as a result of expeditions:

Generally it is a positive change and this part of the game has given hope for a good return. But suddenly it turned the game-play completely.


Rewards from expeditions are MASSIVE!!!

Just look at #trading channel on steemnova discord. After this change there has been a rash of trading offers.

Here is a confirmation screen, that players now are flooding with resources.



For me it ruined completely balance in this game, and need change ASAP.


There is another thing, what still needs a change. Battles:

  1. Armour after each round works exactly the same as shield, so it regenerates, while it shouldn't.
  2. Battle reports does not show last round, unless only one round happened.

Happily, as far as I know, first dev ;) is working on it and we should expect patch soon.


And there is one more thing, that connects everything: Battles on expeditions.
On expeditions you can encounter two types of enemy: Aliens and Pirates, where Pirates should be weaker, and Aliens stronger than you.

Regarding the influence of player upgrades; pirates have -3 level upgrades than you, aliens +3. As you gain higher level upgrades the percentage of difference between player and enemies diminishes. Pirates are less and less weak as aliens are also less and less strong. IE: with player level 0 ups pirates will have 70% structural integrity and aliens will have 130% of what the players have, but if you reach level 10 pirates will have 85% of what the players have while aliens will have only 115%.

The reality is different, and Pirates don't scale with you. (I haven't fight with Aliens yet)

As a result, expeditions are OP, chance of loosing fleet are less than 1%, while one success gives one week of normal production. Also it seems that, defensive players are much stronger now, aggressive are less aggressive. And whoever reached astrophysics, scores great results and boost in points.

What I have done was to adjust randomness of every type expedition event. The issue right now is with the reward amount each expedition event return.
I have already fix for that

It seemed like the variables in reward formula were rearranged :O In a 10 year old engine..

We posted in the same time ;) I hope in few days it will be all good once more.

I think you should take statistic from 3 days ago when dotevo was chasing me at ~25k I think that is really not fair ant i think about abaddon game until all major bugs will be fixed and there will be new universe. For now, there is no option to reach mys or marsell level, even if they lost all fleet, they will still have planets and mines strong enough to keep top position for very long time (until next bug swap). Even if it will be fixed today, they earn enough to dominate universe, so i think im out.

Sad to hear your plans of leaving us for a moment, because with more active players there is a better chance finding a bug.

I have took these statistic only to show that it is unnatural growth. He was chasing you days before expeditions and you both took different tactics- you were doing research and he economy. As we both know, time of research is not as accelerated as upgrading buildings. Moreover, maybe the war with my alliance had bring you down (not directly, but the specter of enemy troops at the gates changed your development plans).

We just have to think of this run as a beta to better Steemnova and enjoy whatever it is right now.

We should think of ourself as a beta testers, so let's chill out and go play, and find others bugs if they are there ;)

Awesome. I just started the game a few days ago, but really enjoying it so far and seems like I need to get geared for trying to do expeditions (unless it's already patched).

Can't wait to see where the future of this game goes especially with the possibility of SMT's.
