Steem Monsters is looking for fantasy/lore content authors
Hey all, Aggroed here. It's abundantly clear that Steem Monsters needs to not just be a strategy game, but an immersive story line where the summoners, monsters, guilds, and teams have their own history, personality, and character arcs between seasons. Steem isn't just a dapp platform. It's a community filled with creative story tellers, active readers,
I'm looking to hire some authors that want to get involved with this game from the creative side. Every summoner will need a backstory. Every monster will need a short quip and a page long backstory of where it lives, what it does, who it hates, why it fights, and something akin to "A Day in the Life of a Pit Ogre."
There are a couple ways we can compensate you. If you just want to write on your own blog, but give us rights to use the content that's something that we can do. DM me in Discord and I'll evaluate. We'll resteem the post (if deemed high enough quality) and when it goes in the game we'll give a link to your profile and the blogpost you authored things from.
We can pay some money. Like I've done with @lovejuice I'm happy to sponsor some paid authoring. This is especially useful to get new users off the ground in cryptoland. Please write up an article on hackmd.io and send me the text. If it's high quality we can talk about price and what we'll pay to get some constant content from you.
I can pay you with cards. A lot of folks I think would trade some labor for some booster packs. I'm down for that too. I'm likely to pay more per story in card packs than Steem/SBD, but I'm happy to build your deck if you help us build our content.
A note about the art from the game
It's not official yet, but we're going to be putting together a terms of service or something like that. Part of that will be the art in the game. I want everyone on the steem platform to feel comfortable sharing pictures of their monsters and even creating fan fiction with them. That's cool. You're not allowed to use our art in a commercial way that's meant to sell what is otherwise proprietary to us. So, don't make your own game with our art (that you sell commercially), but do make posts using the art from the game.
I would love to be involved with the literary work on this. I think it's right up my alley :D
Lately I've been writing the scripts for Space Carrie's Adventures in Space for @carrieallen, and sketches for Steemstar After Dark, which is our Friday night comedy show. You were nice enough to play one of my songs the other day, Right Place, Right Time, feat. Carrie Allen. :)
Anyway, I LOVE Steem Monsters. Everything about it, man. I'd really like to bring some of my skills to the table, if I can find the time. Thanks for working so hard!
We would love to have you write stories for Steem Monsters!
Cool :) What can i start on first? Or are we ready for that?
I'd like to take a shot at the world map, but I don't really do digital art so it probably wouldn't be very useful.
Maybe I'm overly excited... :D
lol I hear you...I would love to do the world map too, but....I'm a musician lol
I'm meeting with Aggroed this week so I'll message you when I find out more and I've added you to my list of writers!
Well now I'm confused about the legality of things. I just got my graded card back and listed for sale in this post https://steemit.com/steemmonsters/@cryplectibles/steem-monsters-lightning-dragon-graded-at-9-5-gem-mint-cond-usd1500-steem-sbd-o-b-o , but do I even own the card or is this going to be like the legal issues Crypto Kitties and it's users have? See this full video for info on that, where even crypto lawyer weighs in.
What is a graded card?
More information can be found here about card grading https://www.beckett.com/grading/faq
Oh, I think the artwork is all proprietary and copyright so printing what may be confused as a physical card might be a violation of their copyright. They never licensed it for that use that I'm aware of and they may want to make physical cards. It doesn't negate the value of your digital card, as far as the code goes. Like Kitties, the SM uses NFT. Exact same, so I'd say yes, you may have jumped the gun there and may want to speak to the founders before continuing with your production of those. You may only be able to print out the code from the blockchain you bought. And that might not be what you were hoping to go for.
It is just a Photoshop I did as a joke post, I do not even own a printer ;)

Is that what I think it is?
I have completed work on the creation myth for the flesh eating golem...

I read your post and upvoted it. It's good and sets the bar pretty high. I don't know that I can write that level of detail of content or whether that much is needed. I will say that it is well written and I read through it captively and slowly.
ty! i wasn't trying to set the bar, and I'm sure I put too much into it, but sometimes things just come from between the cracks.
I have upvote you because your post has been very nice
I'd be happy to take a crack at writing something about some of the characters. Without knowing anything about them, I suppose I would have some literary license to simply roll with something creative and you could edit it to whatever you like. I am not terribly worried about compensation. Cards or boosters would be fine, maybe some STEEM or SBD or good powered upvotes. I am still a minnow and am a good writer which is one of the things that attracted me here to steemit in the first place. If you don't like what I write, no harm, no foul. No hard feelings. I have a feeling that I will like your game no matter what. I've already bought some additional packs and my starter kit.
Can't wait to read the stories the monsters. There are some monsters which look really great and deserve a great story like:

Hopefully there are enough creative people to give the monsters a worthy backstory.
In my opinion the Epic and Legendary monsters should have a way longer and more detailed lore.
For example "Life and Death of a Fire Serpent".
serpent of fire, alchemist of life and death, judge and bearer of the key of the worlds.
I'm really happy that I decided to buy a @SteemMonsters pack! I'm an author. I love writing stories. This morning I fell in love with the cards and quickly began writing about the characters. For every Fire, Water, and Earth element there is a story. The story began to elaborate itself into the creation of a mythical King and Queen whom began placing magical enchantments on the creatures in the @SteemMonster world. There is even legend of the King's Temple where scriptures illuminate additional stories about the characters. It's an amazing time thus far and I'd like to provide these stories for consideration into the authorship contest. However it plays out! I'm sure it's going to be great fun!!! I'm sure to haunt this game in the future! I will be following every step of the way from here!
Thanks again!
