Hey all! I recently hosted a contest in which you could win a neat prize if you beat me in a game called orbs.it. You can find it here. Multiple participants tried to beat me, but since I've already played the game for quite a while before posting the contest, it appeared that my experience made it fairly impossible for new players to beat me. For that reason, no contestant even came close to beating me.

I found that slightly unfair and so I'm now rehosting the contest, but with a few new rules: A guaranteed prize for the person who stays alive the longest in a 1v1 with me. If anyone beats me, they will get the old (& bigger) prize and end the contest.

First some information about orbs.it. You may skip it or read it later at your own discretion, it's simply a guide as to how the game works.

How does Orbs.it work?

Orbs.it is a cool game that's pretty much 100% skill-based. The game is quite simple:

You begin a round with 1 orb. Next you can select your orb by clicking on it and then clicking somewhere on the screen to shoot in that direction. If your bullet hits another orb, you capture that orb. A map starts with 24 orbs, revolving around a central sun and contains 2-8 players. You win once you've captured all your opponents.

There are power-ups called "Superbomb" and "Shield". The first one, Superbomb, shoots 8 bullets in 8 directions from the selected orb, allowing you to make some real bullet chaos. The second one, Shield, makes it temporarily impossible for others to capture that orbs. You can still shoot from a shielded orb, if it's yours. There are cooldowns between power-ups and there's also a limited amount of power-ups you have to your possession. Once in a while, you get some extra power-ups, so you can try to save them up to suddenly rush your opponent, though you will have to take in account the small cooldowns when doing so.

There are cooldowns between using the power-ups, but also between shooting. However, cooldowns are orb-specific. If you shoot from Orb A, you can quickly switch to Orb B and shoot from that one too, without having to wait for the cooldown to end. Then you can switch back to Orb A, though you'll have to wait for A's cooldown to end before being able to shoot from that one.

That's pretty much all. Tactics, Speed & Accuracy decide the ultimate winner.

How do you enter the contest?

Entering the contest is fairly easy: You simply add me on Discord (HashPanda#8278), Telegram (@bloodypanda) or an other easily accessible chatting service, which you should put in the comments. Next, we find a time at which we're both online and ready to play. Then I'll give you further instructions, if required, and we start playing. Try to stay alive for as long as you can to win the prize :)

PS: Using a chatting service is required, since I HATE starting comment/reply-chains, as they get very messy very quickly.
