Splinterlands: Lily Shieldpaw AirDrop
The new Legendary AirDrop card is a Summoner from the Dragon Splinter. It will be 6 mana in order to be used similar to the rest in this Edition. Lily Shieldpaw provides three interesting abilities which are meant to integrate well with the Dragon and Other Splinters: Camouflage, Triage, and Health buff. It will definitely add some alternatives to the meta for the mix among splinters given the flexibility provided by using a Dragon Summoner. I am still unsure how to use despite watching the top players use it as it seems rough to find a rule set to pick Lily over the Kitty from Untamed. However, I think this can change as Modern soon shifts from Untamed in the near future.
My over 3,000 packs helped only slightly this time as guaranteed rates were adjusted given sales so I was unable to guarantee myself a fully maxed version but I did expect these results. The main excitement is that I did get a Gold Foil version which I did not expect for the last AirDrop given my reduced chances. However, I only got the minimum amount of regular foil cards at the guaranteed rate I had with the amount of packs I purchased. After seeing how Astral Entity prices remain stable after the AirDrop as it seemed that the pack burn had reduce the amount available of these last two Legendary Summoners, I went to the market within days to complete my maxed version.
The Legendary Summoner AirDrops have now ended as the pack burn accelerated the journey. Now the wait begins for the Riftwatcher AirDrops which have been slow given the price of SPS. However, my Collection continues to bloom despite the declines in value seen in the past months. The AirDrop approach has proven to be interesting and exciting for the ecosystem. I think it will continue into new Editions which have me thinking my approach on purchasing and opening packs in the future. It feels awkward to not have extras of these last AirDrops which could be a regret based on my Untamed experience.
