I wanted to see how long it would take to get to the Gold Division which is a score of 1900
Answer = 76 games
It was fun... now i'll take a break and reground for the challenge of 2800
ONE LEAGUE SYSTEM
I may not be the biggest believer non-divided ranking system that we're testing out this month ... however i'm willing to give it a try and put in my input for a multi-league system next season. (aka multi-leagues being the system that is used by pretty much every competitive system in the world)
But more on that in another post.
HOW TO GET TO 1900
1 PLAY CATCH UP
Being number 1 is a lot of work. When you're behind the trend and lower in rating than many of your same level players you are much more likely to move up faster and easier with the ranking system. So play a bit each day and then let people catch up and move ahead and then do another run with a solid strategy.2 DECIDE YOUR GOALS

In this case I'm mostly wanting to hit the bonus pack challenge. I'm not sure i'll be competitive enough to win it all. I'm eyeballing that 10pack bonus.
3 MAX DECKS
Well to be honest max decks really help... and i was a big supporter for the last couple months and kept buying cards from the market so now i'm getting rewarded... because prices have certainly gone up since game play started.4 TRY ALMOST MAX
I think it's very doable to get to 1900 with 1 level off of max. If you had to choose max the legendaries but maybe hold off on max commons ... I can't speak to if 2 levels from max would get you there. You probably could it would just take you a lot more battles... and that makes sense.
ABOUT ELO RANKINGS
Right now we're mostly establishing the rankings... it'd be very different if we didn't start at 0 but started higher... so right now we're just kind of spending a few days moving up into the positions that make most sense. Like I said the ranking system is for sure an experiment... elo ratings work better with evenly equipped teams in games of skill less on games of luck. When we move to live drafting instead of blind drafting elo rankings will be awesome.
HOW TO GET TO 1000
I did it in about 25 games when it was a 20 mana cap... with pretty much one single deck.
Right now with 17 mana cap you could possibly do it with one really good team in about 25-30 games. And 17 mana cap teams are way easier to put together. Less cards mean less expense as well.

GET PAID TO PLAY?
You're technically not paid to play... BUT... getting packs is a very fine incentive and you could sell them if you wanted.
I think someone right now could build a team for under $100 and make it to 1900 and earn those 5 packs. And the thing is 5 packs isn't a ton but you got paid to play a game... AND that $100 team is still worth $100 ... maybe more.
LOAN CARD SETS
I do kind of wish there was a way i could loan my friends a team for a day so they can hit that 1000 rating or even the 1900. However max sets do cost a lot of money so it's a little nerve racking. But 17mana teams are substantially cheaper because most of them don't need a max selenia.
Maybe i should give it a try by loaning someone I trust a solid team for a day or half a day.
I like your strategic approach @monsterworld and wish you well for your next push.
Not a lot going on for the newbs playing at level 1 though.
I don't think we'll be able to get beyond a one pack prize and I got to that level very quickly. Now it's just a case of playing around with new teams and seeing if I can find more with potential.
I simply don't have cash to level cards up.
It's interesting seeing how a game like this develops though and I'm curious to see how level 1s will be able to play further down the road.

Like i said every sport i know of has different leagues and there are many reasons for that. I think it'll happen.
Thanks so much @jarvie. That would be great. It was really fun working up to the 1 pack prize and now it's fizzled out a bit because there's nowhere to go. Someone, who's probably much better than I am, said yesterday that they couldn't get beyond 612 with a non leveled pack.
Even winning cards rather than packs would work for me. It just helps to have something to aim for! 😁
Yep i'm not gonna disagree there really is no where to go for you in this season.
That's why a seperate leaderboard and league would give you guys something fun to do ... doesn't mean your prizes have to be big but at least you can compete for some fun and glory right?
Exactly @jarvie. Just competing for single cards or multiples of commons would work. 😁
But maybe there aren't enough of us. I have no idea of the true balance since must people in Discord are the big players and ,of course, all the people on the Leaderboard are too.
I wonder how many people are playing at the lower levels . . .
If you're a peakmonsters user we have a feature called "battlechain" now so you can see all the games being played. And we'll do a filter by rating and by summoner level maybe

Very nice overview. Delegations for cards will be awesome. And when you talk about live drafts, do you mean that people pick cards one after another, like in Magic the Gathering?
You know you can trust me!!!! I really only need a max summoner....I have maxed Legendaries and Epics but cant fully use them...lol
