What's the current win% of current Top 12 players on the Steem Monsters leaderboard?
of the current Top 12 @steemmonsters players?
Hello!
Hi again, everyone. The third season of Steemmonsters has been live for nearly a day, and I wanted to bring you a quick analysis of the current top players' win percentages because it might prove useful, or just interesting :-) Since everything goes nonstop, I had to arbitrarily snapshot this to make the calculations. I took the screenshot at exactly 12:30 PM UTC time on November 27th, 2018. Here it is:
Let's see the win percentages:
Player Name | Total Games | Wins | Percentage |
---|---|---|---|
@d-pend | 216 | 159 | 73.6% |
@cranium | 128 | 98 | 76.6% |
@coolbowser | 168 | 117 | 69.6% |
@wombykus | 143 | 104 | 72.7% |
@artbyclark | 147 | 97 | 66% |
@clove71 | 250 | 167 | 66.8% |
@michelcamacaro | 144 | 104 | 72.2% |
@bafi | 163 | 112 | 68.7% |
@imperfect-one | 190 | 113 | 59.5% |
@marabara | 184 | 111 | 60.3% |
@goodhello | 82 | 62 | 75.6% |
@vaansteam | 257 | 150 | 58.4% |
Evidently, the win percentage varies quite a bit and does not define where you lie in the rankings, especially because of the additional variable of win streak. Also, wins and losses are not equal in ranking change, so it's too complex to be generalized by a simple percentage. However, no player in the Top 12 had less than a 58.4% win rate. The season is too early to conclude anything based on this, but we'll be back later to analyze these numbers again in the near future. Again, these numbers are already slightly "out of date" but it was necessary to freeze the screenshot arbitrarily to calculate this until if/when I learn how to query the API directly for this sort of info.
It also wasn't meant to come to any certain conclusion but more to raise questions. Right now, win percentage in and of itself is somewhat irrelevant to the @steemmonsters ranking. For the most part, playing as many games as possible is rewarded (with at least a ~60% win rate.) It's also a viable strategy (currently) to stop playing when you reach the top and let others pass you so you can more easily progress. What do you think: should win percentage factor into the game's rewards and/or system of ranking? If so, do you have any specific ideas about how this could be implemented?
