It really works. I've been applying the trick for a couple of days now, and was able to avoid all locks.
Be careful with cards that were converted from alpha to beta. I'm not sure if the same rules are applicable, because I did end up with one locked card earlier today. It could also been because I lost focus for a moment. I will give it some test runs tomorrow.
