Arcade machines in the making
As I said in the first post, we are two chefs who are trying to do something constructive in our spare time.
After we successfully completed the first Stand up arcade machine we got another order, this guy wanted a 1/1 replica of the first Donkey Kong arcade machine for personal use.
So, we had the money, we had the knowledge and we thought we had plenty of time to make it work ....
BIG MISTAKE!
When we took the order we told the man in 30-40 days tops we will finish, we ordered all the parts and custom artwork, we finished the wooden components now all we had to do was wait, in the mean time we started setting up the software, bought an old TV screen for the retro look.
For three or four days it was fine, then the Food Truck festivals started all over the country and we had to be there too ....
I can not explain the feeling but like when you have great sex and a black midget pops from your sock drawer and shoves a cabbage up your butt hole, that kind of thing.
We had to attend every single event, when one of us was with the truck on the festival, the other one had to work his ass off at the restaurant because half of the staff was at the festival.
Day by day passed, and we did not have the time to finnish the machine and go to work at the same time, and with all of that the delivery components were really late, ,anyway the guy called after 50 days ,we told him that we can not finish the order anymore,the components were late,and we could not do it in time, the guy was upset and told me this:
If you can not finish in time why the hell take the order, you should go and be gardners.
Than he hang up.....
I was trembling a little bit , i was really angry for situation.
We talked about it and make the decision to find another place to work, we needed something new because here we got monotone and ... i don`t know how to express it
We were sick of the place.
The day came we told the boss man that we want to leave because we found somewhere else, better money ,decent work program blah,blah,blah... ,he started yelling and stuff but in the end it was good, we found a little italian restaurant 2/2 shifts,sunday always closed for now it is good.
The moral of the story
Double check the situation when you start a project for someone else, because who know`s when a little black dwarf pops out of your drawers .
