Effective Aquaponics System Walkthrough

This video details a superior gravity design for an aquaponics system which includes a vortex filter, media filter, and sump tank. This will be a deep water culture aquaponics system and a detailed write up will come later. Sorry I went upside down for a second....ooops :(

NICE DROP... should have a good powerful vortex in the swirl tank. Make sure to include a valve on the inlet pipe of the fish tank. depending on the size of the pump you may need to slow the water down slightly.
FYI.. I use down pipe and stand pipe interchangeably. Both have identical functions. For the most part the stand pipe is the term used in the bell siphon, but the function is exactly the same in the filter tanks.

guys this is a classic example of a one pump gravity feed system. the pump goes in the sump tank and feeds water back to the fish tank. the rate of flow of the pump determines the filtration swirl and filtration rate.
..simple and effective..
How far down does that down pipe go before turning to go out of the tank?
About 3' I think,I'll measure tomorrow It's probably more like 1.5'
