Weekly News Update (January 2020 - Week 5)

Hello everyone! It’s time for another Solairitas Weekly News Update!

Lots of developments this week!!! First, we sold 7 SOL and added one new member! 😊 Although the new member was gifted 1 SOL, there hasn’t been any rule made to forbid it and there’s always the possibility they may increase their holdings as a result of learning about the project. As such, we have remained consistent and added them to the upvote list.

This far, such action has not been a cause for concern (no one has purchased ten and then distributed them to new accounts so that they all receive an upvote). However, there is a potential for abuse there. The institution of a tiered vote based on holdings will mitigate this.

You may also have noticed that the value of Solairitas’s upvote has jumped significantly!!! 😃 @definethedollar has increased his delegation by another 1000 SP and with the project’s own SP approaching 1000 as well, we’re nearing effective Dolphin status!

In even further developments, we have created @solairibot! Extra special thanks to @enginewitty and @definethedollar for delegating 1000 SP each to get the account started! 💪

It remains to be seen how, in the long term, the two accounts will develop (whether they will both exist in tandem or one delegate to the other or one abandoned completely). However, for now, @solairibot trails @solairitas giving all token holders an additional boost. 🤩

Regardless, it seems wise for @solairibot to vote with its own keys when it first goes live for manual call since there are plenty of people out there who like to find ways to rape bots like that just because they can.

Voting power continues to remain in the mid eighties. VP isn’t draining, but we’re not voting with the optimal efficiency. While we have considered several options, it seems the most fair is to begin a rough tier system based on token holdings. This is likely to be initiated in the imminent future, so fair warning! ⚠️
