Hunter or farmer: Which mindset do you have? In business and life
Different people have different mindsets. But when it comes to building wealth, you either have the hunter's mindset or the farmer's mindset.
The hunter is ALWAYS on the move, looking for new opportunities.
And you know what?
The problem with this mindset is that it doesn't allow you to build ANYTHING of value. Hunters don't build. They grab what they can and move on.
But the farmer?...
He sees an opportunity in a field and he works very hard, clearing and tilling that field. Then he sows seeds and nurtures them. Then...
He gets a harvest. Then he repeats the process to get an even bigger harvest.
Let's take an orange plantation as an example...
A "hunter" would go exploring the wilds looking for a cluster of orange trees to call his plantation. He might find one; he might NOT.
However, a farmer just finds a good orange fruit and a good expanse of land. He plants seeds from the orange fruit, nurtures them and then...
He gets some orange trees. These orange trees grow and produce fruit.
He gets the fruits from those orange trees and plants them (some are also dispersed by natural agents) and nurtures them and, with time, he has an orange plantation.
But it all begins with a different mindset: That of starting with little and building onto something great.
