Soft Cannabis (or Non-Cannabis) Chocolate Chip Cookie Recipe
I had actually planned to write another post for my Philosophy of Use series or, maybe another movie review but those can take a few hours and I, unfortunately, have some obligations that I must attend to today, so I decided to dust off an undervalued post and give this steemitzombies tag another whorl. I posted this recipe about six weeks ago (back when I only had fifty followers) and, sadly, no one saw it. It, however, is a great recipe for, both, cannabis and regular cookies and I really do want people to try these things because they are rather tasty. Lets see if we can't bring this post back to life. Stay tuned after the recipe for some all new bonus content.
This has been my standard cookie recipe for years and if you find yourself with cannabutter on hand it will produce some excellent medicated treats or you can make them with regular butter and have a tasty, moist, soft cookie to snack on. Either way you go you win.
You will need the following:
1/2 cup of strong cannabutter (or regular butter if you just want regular cookies), softened
1 1/2 cups of flour
1/2 cup of honey
1 tea spoon of vanilla
1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
1/4 teaspoon of baking powder
1/2 teaspoon of salt.
3/4 cup of chocolate chips
3/4 cup chopped almonds
1 egg
This recipe is super easy and makes some awesome cookies. Start by combining and sifting your dry ingredients in a bowl and set aside.
Next, SLOWLY cream together the cannabutter (or regular butter) and honey. The thing you want to avoid is whipping a bunch of air into the mixture. You are looking for a heavy cream not a pile of fluff.
Once the cannabutter and honey are combined, add in your egg and vanilla and mix thoroughly (and slowly).
In two parts, mix the dry ingreadence into the honey butter mixture.
Finally, add your chocolate chips and nuts to the mix.
At this point, you should find yourself with a very moist, almost runny, sticky batter. This is exactly what you want, but you will need to use a spoon or small scoop to arrange the cookies on the sheet, otherwise you will make a huge mess of your hands.
Drop teaspoon sized dollups of the batter 2 inches apart on a cookie sheet (aluminium works best but anything will do) and place in an oven that has been preheated to 335 degrees Fahrenheit.
Bake them until they are a light golden brown (10-15 minutes) and remove to cool. The cookies will be very soft when you take them out but they are not underdone; they require time to set before they are ready.
Finally, Enjoy.
I recommend making this recipe without cannabutter the first time so you can see how the cookies come out without risking your weed.
This recipe should produce 30- 45 cookies and because the honey acts as a preservative they will stay good for over a week as long as they are tightly covered.
If you give this a try, let me know what you think. Just be careful and if you don't live in a free state, don't get caught.
Bouns Content!
Okay, I feel bad just cutting and pasting an old post and I feel like I should add something for the four people who actually saw the original one (thanks for sticking with me, by the way), so I will tell you a little story.
I knew these two girls (their names don't matter) who claimed to be very seasoned weed smokers. They were hanging around and the idea of having some edibles came up. They said that they had never eaten weed before (we were all very young so this is not surprising). To the point, some very strong cup cakes were made (each contained about 1/4 ounce of passable herb).
About thirty minutes after consumption, they began talking about how high they felt. I told them that the real buzz hasn't started yet. A look of terror passed over their faces. A short time later, one of them said that she felt sick and wandered off to the bathroom while the other babbled about how weird she felt.
Some more friends showed up and the second girl seems to improve with more company around. We sat there laughing and talking but, after a while, we noticed that the first girl was still gone. Seriously, another half an hour had passed and we were worried. I asked the second girl if she could check on her friend because I didn't want to kick open the bathroom door and find her taking a shit or something. There was a problem, though. Girl number two got it in her head that she couldn't walk (she could, in fact). After some convincing we got her up and to the restroom. When we opened the door we found girl the first asleep with her face resting on the rim of the toilet bowl.
We moved her to a couch where she and her friend slept it off. After the incident, the first girl hated me and the second became a good friend for years to come.
The moral of this story is always know your limits and always know the limits of anyone you feed weed to. You don't want to have a house full of people to see you with your face resting on a toilet, do you?
Peace.

I'm Going to Try This With Brown Rice Flour!
Thanks, we really appreciate new recipes around here and we don't bake with wheat or sugar. I use Canna-Caps for my medibles, so we'll be doing straight cookies. :D
Thanks again! :D
No problem. Rice flour should work pretty well but I haven't tried it. Almond flour, on the other hand, messed up the recipe when I tried it. Skipping the chocolate chips is no problem but your total number of cookies is going to be a little lower (but the cookies will be stronger too). You can always add a little coconut if you want to stretch the batter a little further.
Greatly appreciate the added info.
Did you use pure almond flour, or was it part wheat and part almond? I'd use almond flour to bulk it out a bit, or more brown rice. Though I love the taste of coconut, the rest of my body seems to have issues with it. lol
Thanks again :D
I want to say it was pure. It was a few years ago though. The problem was that it seemed to soak up more of the moisture and the batter was dry. There might be a way to get it to work by adjusting the butter and honey but I would just as soon find something that works with recipe as is.
Yep, sounds like a winner as it is. I'll test it with brf and get back to you. Not sure how long it'll take, but it's definitely the healthier choice. We LOVE brown rice flour these days. lol :D
Cool. There are several variations of this basic recipe floating around. Some say to bake them at 350 some say 325. I find that splitting the difference works best. Some call for a little more or less baking soda or baking powder. It is pretty forgiving as far as baking goes (I think it is because honey doesn't get crispy like sugar does) so you can really play with it and make it your own.
I hope you enjoy them.
Cool recipe man never had an edible before though but always wanted to try one.
And that's such a funny story (not for the girl in the toilet xD ) and goes to show that you shouldn't brag about how much you can take and then not know your limits
Very true.
They do the trick for sure but the buzz feels a little different and that trips a lot of people out.
Thanks. Yeah thay story is not typical lol. I usually recomend using 1/2 to 1 gram for a single dose and they ate about 7 times that ammount.

Thanks. It is a good recipe. You can also add some shreded coconut to them too.
Probably needed some alone time to explore the limits of space time...I know I would.
Ha. Yeah these will do the trick for sure but they will taste pretty good while they are doing it.
