July 2nd, 2019 New/Dark Moon in Cancer Infographic

It seems like forever since I've created one of my moon phase infographics, However, I needed something as a spacer for today's Tarot Tuesday, and since it's also the New/Dark moon, it seemed like the perfect choice to update one of my older ones.

The reason I say, "New/Dark" is because, depending on what tradition you follow (and also because, science) there is a distinct difference between the two. The Dark Moon (also referred to as the Dark of The Moon) is when the moon is at that exact point where none of it is visible (hence the reason why I include the time, as well as date, in the graphic). The New Moon is when that tiny little sliver of moon appears and the moon enters its waxing phase.

Here's text from the infographic I created for today. Oh, and the photo is one of my shots of the Full Wolf Moon in January 2017 that I darkened with a filter on PicMonkey, since it's tough to take a picture of something that's "invisible against the backdrop of the Sun in the sky." (h/t Wikipedia Dark Moon entry).

New/Dark Moon in Cancer

July 2nd 2019 3:16 pm EST (July 2nd 2019 19:16 UTC). Cancer is a water sign with highly sensitive, emotional, and protective (aka motherly) energies.

A Solar Eclipse tends to supercharge spellwork. It is a great time for time for those that involve love, transformation, and release.

Magical workings include: healing emotional wounds, nurturing relationships, spiritual growth, forgiving the past & then moving forward, and removing the old to make room for the new.
