Follow Up: Is Flipping Items On Ebay Still Worth It?

in #steemitrebels7 years ago (edited)

A couple of days ago I wrote a short post about flipping items on ebay. Unfortunately nobody responded. So maybe there just isn't a flipping community here on steemit or maybe my post just got lost in the ocean of posts out there.

So I want to ask this community again:

Is flipping items online still worth your time?

I used to sell stuff online I found at garage sales etc. to make a little money on the side. It really helped me out with my expenses while I was studying and I also really enjoyed it. Last week I went to two garage sales but couldn't find anything I thought would sell online. So I want to ask you again - is reselling still a thing or is the market already saturated?

If it still works, what sells nowadays? Back in the days, electronics sold in no time. IPods and all this stuff would usually sell after a couple of hours. Of course people won't go crazy about an old IPod today, but you get the idea.

I post this with the 'steemitrebels' tag, so maybe it gets seen by more people that are into reselling/flipping.

Please let me know what you think in the comment section below!

Have a great day!

Greetings,

ggorwell

I have sold on eBay before however I find that you lose a lot of money due to the fees and postage and packaging costs. Also, in my area a lot of people use Facebook to sell items now, so I'm sure that has had an impact on eBay.

Thanks for your input! Yeah the fees are a bit annoying but I think it is a fair price to pay. I mean ebay is basically promoting your sales for free if you manage to tag your products wisely.

Yh it is a fair price, I also like the way you get free listings so you do not lose out if you do not sell.
