📷 Steemit Photo Challenge - Nature Macro - Entry 2 | Cobwebs catch the water
The grain of water trapped in cobwebs looks like dew in the morning or phenomenon after rain, something natural is often seen. The presumption was not for these photographs, it's the result of engineering, I spray water into the cobwebs knitted on twigs, I suspect it's a jumping spider's web.
Spider's web or cobweb capturing water is a scientific subject, has been reviewed by scientists to reveal the substances and properties contained in the threads produced by spiders.
Spider webs are generally intended to catch its prey, is a device created by a spider out of proteinaceous spider silk extruded from its spinnerets. [en.wikipedia]
The strength of the yarn produced by the spider is able to bear the heavy burden when it hangs, also contains adhesives to trap prey, scientists try and understand the science behind it.
Spiders use dragline silk for the outer rim and spokes of spider webs, as well as using it as a lifeline when dropping to the ground. This is the strongest of the silks produced by spiders, as it must support their entire weight. It is known to have extraordinary properties, and is stronger than steel by weight. Spiders manufacture it at room temperature from simple sustainable materials so that it has no detrimental environmental impact. Back to the core of the discussion, What benefits from the ability of the spider web to capture water in the air? a trivial question for people living in abundant water areas. But on the contrary, will be inspired by humans who live in the water difficulty.
These photos are my work shot with simple equipment, taken with Samsung smartphone cameras plus macro lenses assembled from optical Leica lens broken.
