Misty Days and the Beauty of them. Slovakia. (Landscape Photography)
Every time when it is raining when I am traveling, I have an internal battle with myself. I do not like the cold. I do not like the rain. I don't like to get wet and catch a cold in the end. But I do like the beauty of our planet. I cannot resist mountains and the amazing view you see when visiting places not so many people know about. So I just must tell myself that the rain will bring the beauty in my pictures. And it really does. It gives some kind of a feeling you would never see in a sunny day.
"That mist was thick. It was hard to see at times. The wind was wild. It'd come at me one way and hit me from the front, and hit me from the back."
/Nik Wallenda/
I can see that plus you have to do something different if you want to show something different through your photography.
Exceptional photo, I like how you captured the fall colors of deciduous trees mixed with pines overlaying the mist rolling through a valley in the background. I have found it tough to capture mist at all...you did it well!
Thanks you for your comment! :) Misty weather is now one of my favourite times to take pictures.
Has it been hard to choose the settings or just don't like the weather :D ?
I can see that! I'm not out much in rainy weather but when I have I'm sure the settings are my biggest weakness. I paid for a photography class in college that was being taught by a woman who used to be one of CNNs top photographers. Spent a year with mother Teresa and blah blah. Had an exceptional pedigree but I learned next to nothing about optimizing the settings or editing pictures either one.
My tutor was not even close to CNN , but he had a very special/individual approach to each student. He always first asks what you already know, so that you would not waste your time on things you already know. (If any interest to contact him, here is his instagram: https://www.instagram.com/marekssteins/)
Another thing what I found very helpful, was looking at other photographer works on 500px , because you can see settings for each picture. I think it is very helpful, so I tried this for my own page: ( https://madaraparma.com/travel-by-madara-parma-photography/ ) If you click on the picture, you can see the settings I used.

I was in Montenegro last year during the fires in their forests.
That sounds terrible. Here it was just the mist, not the fire, thankfully!
