SteemitPhotoChallenge #6 (entry 1) "Protrea sky"...and my first Steemit post.
Greetings! My name is Rich and this is the first of what I hope is many Steemit posts. The pic was taken in the Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens in Capetown South Africa. It was taken about 5 years ago on a trip to visit some of my wife's family. I had hoped to get out the camera this weekend to take a new shot for the challenge, but I'm on daddy duty and it just didn't happen.

Gorgeous! We went in end of Sept/early Oct. If you go, make sure to go all the way up to jasper. So much to explore! We did a bunch of day hikes all over. We especially liked a hike over in Yoho Nat'l Park (take a left after Lake Louise!) - it was up along the ridgeline of a glacier - just amazing! And great wildlife everywhere.

Thanks - I really love this lens. If I recall right it's 10-22mm. I got down low and shot upward. The lens adds a bit of distortion on close items which adds to the perspective.
Nice, that's a pretty wide lens. Yeah, I like shots that show a "bug's perspective" or something unusual.
Haha -- This photo challenge got me to make my first Steemit post, too! I hope you have a great experience here! I'm not commenting to try to get you to follow me. I just thought it was neat that a photo challenge got 2 people to make their first post. And you chose a great photo to bring to the challenge, too.
Thank you! I told myself I was going to participate the last 2 challenges, but life got in the way...this time no excuses (still wasn't able to get out to take new shots, but at least this time it wasn't a requirement).

I must not be doing this steemit thing right then...I use upvoting as a "like" on FB. Do I lose steem when I upvote? Should I be more judicious in upvoting then? HA! whoops.
I don't know. I try to do things and I get a red notice saying "Dismiss" because I don't have enough of the right kind of Ooomph. We'll get it figured out somehow. I'll keep trying. :O
noticed your comment about "tilde". I also have it on my images in the editor. Is it a virus or worm. How did you deal with it?
Neither...not sure what it is or why it shows up in the editor/draft, but when you actually post it isnt there.
