SteemitPhotoChallenge Entry - Yosemite Falls
My entry for @jamtaylor's weekly #steemitphotochallenge
And if no one objects to multi-tasking with tags, this is also my first contribution to #WaterfallWednesday started by @mibreit-photo.
Yosemite Falls
In one of America's most beautiful and iconic National Parks: Yosemite, a special place that deserves to be at the top of anyone's bucket list.
Fun fact: I took this photo from a parking lot, handheld with a telephoto lens - not my usual technique, but for once I liked the way the water looked, frozen with a fast shutter speed.

Thanks for sharing. I took the exact same photo when I went hiking back in 2014.
Haha, nice! From that same parking lot?
I took a few from there. We ended up hiking to the top of the falls.
Great shot. I did have to laugh at your description on how you caught this image! Thanks for sharing.
lol, sometimes it's fun to dispel the idea that I hiked uphill for three days through the woods, then set up the camera on a tripod and waited many hours for the perfect moment....
lol - yep! As much as one can try to plan the shot, at the end of the day, it's the moment that counts!
Absolutely stunning. Am a newbie in photography. How did you do that, where the rest of the photo are in dark, whereas the focused section (namely the waterfall) is bright.
Put this in my wish list. Here's the view from my window right now.
Thank you, Bob! There was already some light effects happening due to the weather, but I did a lot of dodging and burning to highlight the bright spots and darken the shadows. Just like Ansel Adams did, only digitally instead of in a darkroom. :)
Beautiful shot mate. Just don't enter anything else into the comp that might further reduce my chance of winning ; seeing as you cleaned up the last one lol!
lol, thanks. I'll keep it to this one. ;)
beautiful photo editing choices. good work!
Thanks so much! :)
Just a masterpiece!
Thank you! :)
This is really creative and beautiful! Mysterious.
Thanks again, @brazenbre! :)
