Ways of doing things
Do we do things right or we do the right things?
According to Peter Drucker, "efficiency is doing things right and effectiveness is doing the right thing ". But come to think of it, is there any distinct line between doing things right and doing the right thing?
The two statements look alike but up tight they are a bit distinct from each other. Doing the right thing basically means limiting your general outlook to particular deeds which you deem appropriate. With this one has to identify and select conducts and actions that are considered as the right things based on his or her method of right validation. With the effectiveness of this action, doing the right thing can be attributed to the extent to which a decided or decisive outcome is produced. In other words you, you decide you want to produce, and play along the actions perceived to get you that same outcome.
Doing things right on the other hand is the efficient approach of life to issues and can be linked to the extent to which a resource is used for the intended purpose. This activity generally demands that, whatever we do, we have to do it right so as to achieve our intended aim while limiting the amount of waste of resource caused. It is an application of a just perspective to whatever you attempt without any limitations.
But remember, sometimes, the things we do right would not always be the right thing to do. So the best way is to do the right things right.
