Cheesy Mac Recipe
Who could say no to a cheesy pasta dish with a beautiful crispy topping? Give this recipe a try and let me know what you think!
Recipe:
225g (roughly 1/2 package) pasta
3 cups milk
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
2 cloves garlic, minced
3 cups cheese of choice - I used old cheddar and smoked cheddar
1 tsp mustard
1/2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- Cook pasta as per package instructions.
- Melt butter and whisk in flour until a roux forms. Mix in garlic and cook for another two minutes.
- Slowly add in milk and whisk on medium heat until milk begins to simmer and sauce thickens.
- Turn off heat and add in cheeses, reserving some for topping. Mix in mustard, Worcestershire sauce and salt & pepper to taste.
- Combine sauce and pasta in a baking dish, top with remaining cheese and breadcrumbs.
- Broil mac n cheese in the oven until topping is crispy.
