Learning with Memory Techniques: The Periodic Table of Elements (91-95)
This is an easy way to learn Protactinium, Uranium, Neptunium, Plutonium and Americium. Learning with memory techniques is much easier than rote repetition. Especially when the images are already layed out to you in a clear and intuitive way. We will cover five elements per post with special training images for all elements and numbers. Please check out our other episodes for more elements.
Each element comes with a special training image. These contain the element number, a common application, a phonetically similar image for the name and the element symbol. The color of each training image indicates the element category.
To memorize all elements by number we will use the Visual Major System to encode numbers into images. Please make sure you understand its principles. Here is a quick reminder how this system works:
In the Visual Major System 9 = J or SH or CH and 1 = T or D. With that we can create the word JET. The ninetyfirst element Protactinium sounds like protective clothes. This element is radioactive.
In the Visual Major System 9 = J or Sh or CH and 2 = N. With that we can create the word CHAIN. The ninetysecond element Uranium sounds like urine. The element is radioactive and heavily used in nuclear power plants.
In the Visual Major System 9 = J or SH or CH. With that we can create the word JAM. The ninetythird element Neptunium sounds like Neptune (after which it is named). The element is radioactive.
Come up with your own story or ask your students to that.
In the Visual Major System 9 = J or Sh or CH and 4 = F or V. With that we can create the word SHAVE. The ninetyfourth element Plutonium sounds like Pluto and we can imagine the dwarf planet instead of the god. The element is radioactive.
In the Visual Major System 9 = J or SH or CH and 5 = S or Z. With that we can create the word CHESS. The nintyfifth element Americium sounds like America and we can imagine the Statue of Liberty. The element is radioactive.
All training images are property of Thinkkniht UG. They can be used for educational purposes in Schools and Universities. You can get the set with 50 different Visual Major System images from 0-9 for free in English and German.
If you like our Major System training images you can get our premium high resolution 2-digit set with nearly 800 images from 00-99 with the English Edition or German Edition.
The Periodic Table of Elements training images are also available a premium high resolution edition.

The Major System for Numbers
To memorize all elements by number we will use the Visual Major System to encode numbers into images. Please make sure you understand its principles. Here is a quick reminder how this system works:
- We encode digits into consonants
- We pair the letters with phonetically similar consonants
- Vowels are free to create words
- Below on the graphic are the ten main letters
91. Protactinium
In the Visual Major System 9 = J or SH or CH and 1 = T or D. With that we can create the word JET. The ninetyfirst element Protactinium sounds like protective clothes. This element is radioactive.
A Jet flies against a person in a radioactively glowing suit and pulverizes into dust.
92. Uranium
In the Visual Major System 9 = J or Sh or CH and 2 = N. With that we can create the word CHAIN. The ninetysecond element Uranium sounds like urine. The element is radioactive and heavily used in nuclear power plants.
Protestors have chained themselves to a nuclear powrer plant and covered the way around them in cups full of urine to keep the guards away.
93. Neptunium
In the Visual Major System 9 = J or SH or CH. With that we can create the word JAM. The ninetythird element Neptunium sounds like Neptune (after which it is named). The element is radioactive.
Neptune is eating a radiocatively glowing jam sandwhich.
94. Plutonium
In the Visual Major System 9 = J or Sh or CH and 4 = F or V. With that we can create the word SHAVE. The ninetyfourth element Plutonium sounds like Pluto and we can imagine the dwarf planet instead of the god. The element is radioactive.
95. Americium
In the Visual Major System 9 = J or SH or CH and 5 = S or Z. With that we can create the word CHESS. The nintyfifth element Americium sounds like America and we can imagine the Statue of Liberty. The element is radioactive.
If you like our Major System training images you can get our premium high resolution 2-digit set with nearly 800 images from 00-99 with the English Edition or German Edition.
