Grandma stories for the kids - 4
Grandmas used to tell stories to kids. Sometimes, it used to be in the form of poems or songs. I remember my grandma telling me some stories but I have forgotten most of it. I do remember my dad telling me stories of Greek heroes.
Children love hearing stories and so I have started a series. Please feel free to read it aloud to your small children and to share it on sites like twitter, if you like. I have not published any story so far and it can be read and shared for free. Please do leave your feedback in the comment section.
There used to be a fox
who was always cross
none could make him laugh
until the elephant poked him with a staff
The elephant was quite the king
who was gentle but always meddling
all the animals in the forest
when he came along, hid in the nest
The lion was tired of the elephant's tales
who seemed to go on bragging about his success and fails
The lion decided to overthrow the present king
and hoped the animals would support him
The lion went to the elephant
talked to him straight in the face and did not bow or bend
the elephant heard him out
wondering what it was all about
The animals agreed in unison
that the elephant was a better fare in fiction
the elephant agreed that he went overboard
he quit his position and looked out for a ship to board
A world tour seemed fantastic
the elephant was not quite the rustic
he toured the world and told many stories
to those who loved horrors and mysteries
The animal kingdom did miss him so
they wondered if the elephant lived in a palazzo
He did contact them later on
when he spoke to them through the phone
The above was written for kids. So, please excuse if you find it childish.
