How to motivate others to do their best @steemiteducation homework
Motivation makes people achieve their goals. To motivate others one must study and pay careful attention inorder to find out if the person have interest in the area one is trying to motivate him/her on.
Understanding this will ease the task of the motivator and make motivator know where to start from. If it is someone who does not have interest in the area one wants to motivate him/her on, the first thing to do is to
convince him/her regarding the subject matter.
For instance I remember last week, when I wanted to motivate a friend who wanted to study medicine after completing his degree in a particular field (botany), the first thing I did was letting him know the potentiality and how wide his area of specialization is, if He proceeds with it to masters and PhD instead of dumping it to start afresh another field. He had lost hope that he could lead a happy life with his botany degree but I was able to make him see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Also one need to make them know that time waits for no one. Likewise the possible challenges they may encounter in their targeted new field. Other ways to motivate others are :
- Give examplesThe motivator should be able to cite example of those who has succeeded in the particular area and even being a good example not necessarily by saying but it should be shown or reflect from him/her.
- Encourage them
The motivator should be encouraging them making them focus on what they are going to achieve if they do their possible best. - Support
The Motivator should always be ready to render assistance where they have the ability to do so and have congent reasons when he or she lacks ability to assist, this will make the person one is motivating feel carried along and happy that someone somewhere care for his or her success. Share stories of those who have undergone similar and succeeded, this will make hopeful and put in more effort. 4. Let them be told the possible challenges they may encounter along the way and the possible way out.
