Fenomena anak dibawah umur mengendarai sepeda motor mungkin sudah cukup sering kita temukan. Ini bukanlah sebuah hal baru bagi masyarakat kita. Anehnya meski begitu banyak himbauan dari pihak polisi lalulintas dan pemerintah bahkan dengan jumlah kecelakaan yang bertambah akan tetapi himbauan tersebut tidak membuat para orang tua sadar untuk tidak memberikan izin pada anak mereka.

Hal ini tentu didasari berbagai alasan. Beberapa kasus yang pernah kita temui mungkin faktor anak yang menginginkan sepeda motor untuk bersekolah, hadiah dari orang tua, bahkan tak jarang sang anak mengancam orang tua dan mengancam pendidikan mereka sendiri ketika orang tua tak menuruti keinginan mereka. Selain itu, selama ini saya kira pemerintah masih kurang konsisten dalam menangani masalah ini. Artinya, selama ini pemerintah hanya terpaku pada sosialisasi pada pelaku pengendara dibawah umur saja tetapi tidak pada orang tua mereka. Seharusnya pemerintah lebih fokus pada mensosialisasikan tentang bahaya berlalulintas bagi anak dibawah umur dan pada orang tua mereka.

Bagaimana mereka melakukannya? Hal ini dapat dilakukan dengan kerja sama pemerintah dengan pihak sekolah untuk memanggil seluruh orang tua murid ke sekolah kemudian disana dilakukan sosialisasi hal tersebut. Apa dampak negatif terhadap hal ini. Apa peraturan yang harus dipatuhi sehingga membuat para orang tua murid peka terhadap hal ini. Peduli pada anak mereka sebelum hal itu terjadi.

Apa saja peraturan berlalulintas yang harus dipatuhi?

Menurut Undang-undang Nomor 22 Tahun 2009 tentang lalulintas dan angkutan jalan menyebutkan beberapa peraturan yang mesti dipatuhi oleh pengendara yaitu:

• Pengendara hendaknya memiliki surat izin
• Gunakan Helem standar (SNI)
• Pastikan kelengkapan berkendara lengkap
• Perhatikan rambu-rambu lalu lintas
• Lengkapi spion kendaraan Anda
• Untuk pengemudi mobil dan penumpang diharapkan menggunakan sabuk pengaman
• Nyalakan lampu utama saat siang hari atau malam hari
• Saat berbelok jangan lupa aktifkan lampu isyarat
• Jangan balapan dijalanan sebab itu mengganggu pengendara yang lain.
• Perhatikan anak-anak dan perseorangan dijalanan.

Dengan mematuhi peraturan ini hendaknya upaya keselamatan dan meminimalisir angka kecelakaan di jalan raya dapat dibendung. Dalam hal ini tidak cukup hanya mengandalkan sosialisasi dari pemerintah saja. Akan tetapi peran orang tua sangat berkontribusi besar bagi tujuan yang baik ini. Bagaimanapun anak yang baik adalah anak yang selalu dalam pengawasan orang tua mereka. Sebelum celaka maka hindarilah.
