3RD GRADE MATH - SIMPLE ADDITION EQUATIONS

Simple Addition Equations

In this post we will discuss addition equations. This concept gives some exposure of equations (equality) to kids in grade three. On Left Hand Side (LHS) some missing number is added to a given number to get the sum on the right hand side of the equal sign (known as right hand side RHS of the equation).

For example;    3 + ____  = 5 ; we can read it as 3 added to what make 5? Simple solution is to start counting from three and draw lines as counting forward to 5. Many kids can do this calculation in their head and I always reward such kids and encourage all of them to do such calculation in mind.

Below is a worksheet to practice this tricky math concept;

Glad to see that someone is getting these lessons out there. I believe the biggest problem though is there are too many high school graduates that do not know their multiplication tables or know how to find percentages. Maybe staying on top of the lessons early will make it not so difficult.

You are right @johnwjr7, building on math skills from early on makes a huge difference in higher grades. This is unfortunate that many high school graduates don't know times tables, again the problem is the not paying attention to elementary math concepts.

Time to time great concept sharing. Thanks bro

You are welcome dear brother!

So cool it will be great to learn some brain horses for kids :D

kids will solve this one quickly i guess but lets test it out :)

thanks sir for sharing these worksheet nice work by you :)

this is the coolest worksheet simple equations not that hard :)

This is brilliant. You r a genius in maths👊🏽

that's pretty cool to know..
