Coloring Halloween Characters: A Halloween Lesson Plan for Early Child and First-grade Students
@steemiteducation has announced a new steemhomework theme, it was Halloween. It makes me interested to create a Halloween themed lesson plan to be able to convey to the students and may also has benefit for other teachers.
Indonesian society, generally not too familiar with Halloween. Halloween is not a celebration of great interest to the people of Indonesia. Halloween celebrations in Indonesia are not as vibrant as the celebration of other big days. Only certain circles celebrate Halloween. But sometimes the kids at school ask about the Halloween. To their knowledge, Halloween is a frightening celebration and there are many things that are negative. But there are some positive aspects I can take from Halloween and try to present and create to the students. An interesting learning that is positive for children, that is coloring various Halloween characters. By presenting various Halloween characters in their unique and friendly form, they are not afraid of the basically sinister nature of Halloween as they see on television. It provides positive education for students through this method of learning.
Halloween Characters Coloring Page: Smiling Helloween Pumpkins, A Boy in Halloween Pumpkin Patch, Cute Halloween Witch Costume and Pumpkin, Little Gypsy Girl Halloween Costume, Halloween Witch Girl Riding her Broom, Halloween Party Games, Halloween Party Music and Dance, Halloween Party Kittens.
Basic Competence
- Students are familiar with Halloween characters,
- Students are not too afraid of Halloween characters,
- Students are mentally trained to be courageous and confident and to get rid of fear.
This Halloween Drawing lesson can be applied for first-grade students, or even can also be given to children of early age. For the highest level, a teacher can provide images that are more challenging and interesting to suit the needs of the class.
- The teacher distributes to each student a picture coloring Halloween characters.
- Each shared image is randomized so that each other is not the same in the coloring technique.
- The teacher gives 15 to 20 minutes to complete the coloring of the given image.
- After finishing the coloring, the teacher gave them an additional 10 minutes, asking them to prepare a description of the pictures they colored, in their own opinion.
- After 10 minutes of additional times, the teacher asks students one by one to describe the Halloween characters and show their coloring results to the front of the class.
- Other students are asked to give attention and applause to their friends who are advancing to the front of the class.
- The teachers give points to students who are able to explain the Halloween character they are coloring.
- Students with the most neat coloring results and who are able to describe the halloween character, get the highest point.
- The teacher rewards the winner, like a candy or coloring book.
- Finally, the teacher gives a positive description of all the character helloween they have colored. Can also add a funny short story about halloween.
By coloring Halloween characters and trying to provide interesting descriptions to students who are still studying in kindergarten or first-grade students, students are expected to develop their fine Motorics where their movement only uses certain body parts and only involves a small part of the body muscle. As we know together the process of growth and development of motor abilities of children associated with the process of growth and development of the ability of children's motion. And also train the child to be confident to perform in front of the crowd.
And through the learning activities in coloring the various halloween characters are unique and friendly, the students are able to develop aspects of mentality and is expected to no longer over fear of helloween characters, where all this time they only know the negative side of all these characters.
