TRANSACTIONAL WRITING: Electronic Communication
The speed, ease and economy of electronic communication have made it an important part of our modern lifestyles, as, in all forms of communication, the register (appropriate use of language for a particular recipient and situation) will determine the writing level and format.
**E-mail (short for electronic mail) is the electronic transmission of messages, letters, documents, images and photographs. It has become the most popular and widely used in electronic communication.
The advantage of using e-mail

- E-mail is a instant form of communication - your recipient will be able to access the document within seconds of you sending it. You can set your computer to alert you when the document has been read, as proof that the document has been received.

- E-mail can be sent or retrieved from almost any computer in the world. It is a convenient way of keeping in touch with business associates, family and friends.
