May Day 1886 –CHICAGO:What happened that day;;
US Labor Unions decided to launch strike action with their main request for 8 hours of work a day. At that time there was no working framework , and workers were forced to work countless hours , even Sundays and Public holidays. At that time , the Canadians had succeeded in striking their claims with strike action , and this was an incentive for US workers to emerge as well.
More than 90000 workers took part in the strike protest in Chicago , while 350000 workers from 1200 factories participaded in the strike.
Three days later , on May 4, the police were ordered to disband the mobilization, using violence . There followed clashes in wich an unknown man , trew a grenade where a policeman was killed and several people were injured.
Police officers replied with shots , in total killed 8 proterest and six police officers, while many proterest and not only , where injured. For the death of the policeman from the bombing , 8 trade unionists were condemmed to hang up and were killed. Notable American lawyers consider the trial of “eight” as one of the most serius cases of malice in history of US.
