Today is a very special day for all and even more for educators, since their role in education is very important, today we continue with the theme of the week (of Earth Day) and this is my third contribution to the work of Steem, proposed by @ steemiteducation. Speaking of the care of our mother earth.

22 April is Earth day. How would you celebrate Earth day with your students?

I want to be so sincere and transparent with all of you, I am not an educator, my university profession is administrative, as I said before, but I love learning as much as teaching, and if I had students in charge, my students and I visited a park and there we organized a logistics to plant trees, prepare land for the cultivation of flowers and plants of all kinds.

This is a beautiful job, to teach the importance of caring for nature and help it grow, not diminish, give them all the information of the risks we can experience when destroying trees.

Children from a very young age can be educated in this area, so when they are adults they know the importance of preserving natural resources.

Not only in the parks there is also the community where we live and its surroundings, where we have the obligation to support the growth of these trees planted, I know that it is a joy to take the students to do these community works, their faces of joy give much pleasure to the adult because I know they are learning

On April 22 of each year the birth of the modern environmental movement is celebrated, which began in 1970 when 20 million Americans took to the streets, parks and auditoriums to demonstrate for a healthy and sustainable environment

The Earth Day of 1970 achieved a political coincidence that seemed impossible. That day led to the creation of the United States Environmental Protection Agency and the approval of laws related to clean air, clean water and the conservation of species in danger of extinction. From then on, every year on this date, the whole world reflects and mobilizes for a better Earth

Until this century, few thought that human beings, living in an area of ​​land apparently without limits and with abundant water, could cause irreparable damage to the environment. However, today governments and people in general around the world are struggling with coastal erosion, oil spills and the pollution of drinking water, while issues such as population growth, deforestation, acid rain and The possibility of rapid climate change means difficult decisions for the future.

In 1975 an international study group meeting in Belgrade, Yugoslavia, proposed a global reference framework for environmental education, which was called the "Belgrade Charter". This Charter affirms that the goal of environmental education is to make the world population care about the environment and have the knowledge and dedication that enables it to find solutions to current problems and prevent new problems.
