You Can Now Delegate Steem in a Few Seconds INSIDE Your Browser! Here's how!

There's a lot of talk about delegation here on Steemit, but how do you do it? If you look it up, you get some pretty complicated answers, but, if there's an easy way, I'll find it! ( I think that may be my new tagline!)

So, in the course of things, I'm trying every tool I run across, I've got a list of about three or four things to test out today. But, one of those tests brought this to my attention.

Delegation is automated in Steemplus!

Why do I want to delegate my SP?

Well, that's a good question. There are several reasons to delegate.

  • If you've started a second account, (here's how)
  • To help support a Plankton with low SP, temporarily
  • To join a project on Steemit
  • In payment for a barter arrangement for something you need
  • You can sell delegation as well

Whatever your reasons, delegation is now easier than evern with Steemplus!

Here's how it works. While using the steemplus browser add on, you simply go into your wallet.

Don't have Steemplus? I'll share the link to find out more at the end of this tutorial.

First, open your browser, it works in Chrome, Opera and Firefox, all three great web browsers. Navigate to steemit. You'll see the steemplus symbol in the top right corner. To log in, click it to go to Steemconnect and sign in.

Don't have steemconnect? Check the links at the end.

Navigate to your wallet

Find "DELEGATE" in the Steem Power section

That leads to the delegation screen

Add the user you'd like to delegate too

Side note, you can delegate steem to ANY user, with or without their consent. That would be a nice SURPRISE!

Set the amount of delegation

Submit your delegation request

Continue to confirm your log in

You should see a screen confirming success. If not, check the amounts and user name and try again.

Here are the links I promised for steemconnect and steemplus, two tools I highly recommend.

Get Steemplus

Get Steemconnect

I've been looking into all of this too... Stem delegation is a bit down the road for me still ;P (I'm still using part of the 15 SP @steem delegates to new users, lol).

Btw, Mark, what happened to the last two evaluations for Dolphinschool? I was looking forward to your comment on my post about not believing in god(s) ;P

Also, I just posted a piece of art that I think you're going to love, especially since you liked "Khaos Bellus" ;)

I have found that if you delegate too much power as a minnow it will effect the bandwidth and you won't be able to do anything until it recharges. What is the minimum amount ones needs to keep in your wallet to be able to maneuver on the platform? Also many people may not know that it takes 7 days to get the delegation back to your account. Thank you for your service and I plan to keep reading your posts! Have a great weekend!!!

I wouldn't recommend it to small fry. You're actually still solidly in plankton territory, not even a minnow yet. You wouldn't make enough profit renting it yet, and you can't donate enough to make much difference. This isn't necessarily pointed at plankton.

Thank you for this. Can you refer me to a place where I can learn what the details are for the different ranks and what I would have to do to move up please?

The ranks are kind of irrelevant, to be honest. They're not official. To go up, you just need to increase your SP, that is the only factor involved. If you go to busy.org, you can see the ranks of all users. I don't pay much attention to it.

The step by step is great thanks but I really don’t understand delegation. I’m fairly new so what’s an example of how I would use this?

You can donate a portion of your SP temporarily to help a new account. Or, you could rent delegation out through a service like minnowbooster, for other users to lease to increase their vote power.
