ALWAYS TALK TO SOMEONE YOU TRUST IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM.

It was very near to the birth of the twins, and Jared and Luan did not really feel like going to school, as they were very excited about the twins. 

Luan’s mother made them a copy of the twins to show their teacher.

They could not wait to show her and she was so glad for Luan.

She told them that today she will tell them about twins as you do not get that chance often in school. 

When the class started, she said you will not believe but Luan is getting a brother and a sister very soon.

One little girl put her hand up, and said we get new brothers and sisters very often. That is when her teacher said, I know Imelda, you are lucky, you live with a wonderful foster family that look after you very well. 

Imelda said, they feel like our mother and father because they are good to us. 

So Luan asked what a foster family was.  

The teacher then started explaining to them that not all children live with their own family. Some of them have either lost them or they are not very well treated.

The welfare then come and gets them a new family who look after them, until they can look after themselves. 

Luan said that is so sad, why would someone not want their children, and the teacher explained that life was not always fair.

Sometime your parents die or they do something to hurt the children. 

Some parents drink too much and others use drugs.

Suddenly Luan and Jared realised how wonderful lucky they were. 

Jared said: my mother died when I was born, and my dad has been looking after me since birth. He is my best friend and hero. He has always tried his best and now with Luan’s mother taking me in, every afternoon I have a wonderful life. Jared you are some of the lucky ones, sometimes there are parents who do not care.

That is why Imelda is happy. She lives with foster parents, but they feel like her own. 

Then we get children who get adopted, that means their parents gave the baby up for adoption, and a family who really cannot have a baby now have one just like they always wanted.

It is good for us to talk about this, as this adopted child is a chosen child for a family, they are just as happy as children who were not born to those parents. 

Children I am so glad we can talk about this today. Remember if you have trouble at home, and you do not know how to handle it, please come and tell me. We will always see a way to help you. 

We never talk about these things and it is important. Never be scared to come to me or your principal to help you, we will do that with love.

Here we have a little boy Jared, who is very happy and he does not have a mother. He does have a wonderful father who looks after him. 

Then we have Imelda and some other children. They are living in a foster home, and they are very happy because they do not give children to anyone, they first make sure that the home is the right place for children. 

Then we have children who are adopted and like other children belong to that family. I myself was an adopted child and my parents always told me they could pick me, and I was the one they really wanted.

So there are so many ways to help children. If you have a problem, please come and tell someone you trust and we will definitely help you. 

Now the twins are two babies that are born one after the other but they are just born a small time apart. Because they grew up in the mother and did it together they will always be twins.

Now Luan show them the picture your mother made for us, and thank her as she gave us a chance to talk about things we never are able to as there are no children who just come and talk about their problems. 

The twins made it possible for us as we were answering questions that never get asked. Luan showed them the picture of the twins and they said oh they are beautiful. 

Will you come and show them to us when they are born. Luan said I am sure my mother will, as she is just as excited as we all are. 

Then the principal came to the class to call Luan and said, your mother is having the babies your father came to fetch you, so go with him. He looked at Jared and said, can Jared please come with he is just as part of our family as those twins. 

Yes he can go his father has already given permission, but your father was not sure if you wanted to go alone. Oh thank you sir and they grabbed their stuff asked some friends to take their bikes home and rushed to Luan’s father, where he was waiting in the office.

He grabbed them both and hugged them and said lets go to the hospital.
