I see you provide as source: EBH Joubert
I'm guessing that you are 'Joubert'. Is English, in South Africa, now following the American spelling? I notice it now and then in newspapers.

E Joubert is my eldest sister, she taught English, Afrikaans and Latin for the senior grades but has long since retired. She was married to Prof. Joubert who used to lecture Romance languages at the University of the Free State, he passed away on Christmas day last year. They both shared a love for languages. They have five children and only one took French and she is now translating French to English for our President. As South Africans, we were taught English the British way. I guess it is the computers with language and translating abilities which make people choose between UK or US English spelling.
