One of my main passions is drifting, i don't actually do it (i have had a go but lack of funds...) but its a motorsports that really gets my blood pumping.

Arriving at the venue and hearing the roar of the highly tuned 600+ BHP engines screaming at 7000 RPM, the screech of the tires and the smell of burning rubber in the air. It gets your blood pumping, your adrenaline going, you race to the track excitedly to see whats going on the noise has died down, no your thinking i've missed something great but then you can hear it in the distance the screeching of an 800 BHP engine, its getting louder and louder, you can hardly hold the excitement then out of nowhere a Nissan Silvia s14a in a blue and green Falken Tires liverly comes screaming at over 80mph fully sideways on full opposite lock, looking totally out of control around the corner clipping the apex then transitioning the other way amazingly running a perfect line all around the track. You cheer and clap for the sheer car control that was just on show and at that point realise you have just seen James Deane the multiple Irish and European drift champion and probbably the best drifter in the world right now!!

Thats why i love drifting, its the most thrilling and exciting motorsport you can watch!

Here i Ireland we have a bit of a lack when it comes to being good at sports but when it comes to drifting the Irish stand up there with the greatest in the world.

James Deane multiple Irish and European drift champion and just signed a million dollar contract to drift in Formula Drift in America.
He started out when he was only 13 competing in his first Drift competition in a Ford Sierra, then went on to a Nissan Silvia s14a

Now just built for his new venture in America he is driving a Nissan s15

Some of our up coming drivers worth mentioning are Duane McKeever Irish Drift Champion 2016 one to watch definitely.

And of course we have the super star in the making Jack Shanahan. 2 times British drift champion all before he's even 18.
Jack Shanahan i believe will be very big in the drifting world very soon, amazing talent and very exciting to watch.

There are so many Irish drift stars worth mentioning but i shall leave that for a drivers review post.
