I believe in mind control. We are not helpless creatures surrendered to the thoughts the universe gives to us. Sure, at some point in time we have all been controlled by our thoughts and worries. They can take up your entire mind and leave you overthinking and believing in that nagging little voice that tells you not to do something.

But it doesn't have to be that way!

This quote, for me, is a constant reminder of the actual pureness of the mind. Your thoughts clutter it with meaning and interpretation and opinion. But if you choose to sit still and let go of all your thoughts (a state which meditations aim at), you will be able to see your mind and your soul as the beautiful thing it is- a place to reflect, but also a place to simply be.

I think mental issues like depression make it especially difficult to access a clear mind and find peace within. Negative thoughts just keep hauling in and it seems impossible to stop the downward spiral.

But in a moment like that it's even more important to meditate and try to connect with your soul. It can be painful, but I think vulnerability is a beautiful thing that shows you just how raw and pure your mind really is.

After all, thoughts are only one thing - thoughts.
