When I turned 9, we moved to the States for my Dad’s work. During the first few months, we were living in rented accommodation in a small gated community and I hadn’t yet started school. Apart from a few hours messing around in the public pool, there wasn’t much to do for a kid with no friends, so I would find entertainment in drawing, playing with my Barbies and listening to music. It was at this time that I discovered a couple of my Mum’s CDs that she had brought from the UK and I instantly fell in love with Mariah Carey’s album Music Box. I literally played it on an indefinite loop all day and memorised all the lyrics.

Today was a day of doctor appointments for my wife and I. She broke her ankle on our last day of vacation and I had my final visit concerning my plugged sweat gland on my foot that I mentioned in a previous post. While waiting in the chair for the podiatrist to come in, poke my foot, and then release me to my future adventures, I begin to think how much pain and suffering was caused by such a tiny part of the body. How such a infinitesimal piece of debris entered a sweat gland and pretty much shut me down from all, but the most necessary activity. It was astounding to me.

Have you ever heard your phone ring and it's either your mum, dad, sibling or a close friend and you are really busy doing something, but you keep them on the phone while you simultaneously do what you were doing and attend to their call? In the process, your attention is divided and you give them very shabby response because you are not really into the conversation. Yes, I have been there before, I used to do it a lot. But I want to believe I have changed though.

I think it is safe to say that when most of us arrive here, we pretty much have no fncking clue what is potting and so we enter into the ”you followed me, I’ll follow you” and ”oooh they look interesting” syndromes – but a little time and experience will educate you into the fact that Steemit does not really operate like any other social media platform and the algorithms are not the same either… – but over and above that, it NEVER really pays to click that follow button simply for the sake of Pete ;)

There is no WiFi provided here in this cafe. Please look at each other and talk like in old days. I saw this tagline at some cafes and I guess they must have witnessed customers came in together in a group and all were busy looking at their phones. I am guilty as charge too, although usually I only look at my phone 20% of the time. 80% will be busy making sure my son eats his food.

People love fishing. They do it on the land and they take out their private boats. I can't deny being a fan of fishing from wherever I can get them to bite, but Party Boats bring some extra attractions. Do they have their drawbacks? Sure they do. Not everyone likes to group up with strangers or give up control of the helm.

With a start like this I knew it would be a beautiful day. Not much gets me on my feet fast at 5am, but it was worth the muddy grassy wet bare feet I brought back to this sweet old trailer we've been granted to stay in.
