Heirloom seeds

The other day I came across a small garden centre that is now stocking heirloom seeds - and of course I was over the moon when I saw this.

I have already planted some of tomato seeds and sweet pepper seeds and am now waiting patiently for them to germinate in about seven to ten days.

The tomato seeds contain a mixture of different types - purple, green, pink, red, yellow, black, orange and white - all of which are said to have been grown by Thomas Jefferson originally.

I have planted them in containers so that I can keep a watchful eye on their progress.

The sweet peppers include orange, red,yellow and purple colours and grow to about 40cm in height so I am looking forward to growing these - also in containers.
