RE: Steemit BJJ Patches Coming Soon!

in #steemitbjj7 years ago (edited)

That's the thought process. Jiu jitsu and mma are staples in main stream social media already, mainly thanks to the popularity of the UFC. There has already been some cross over with digital currency and mma. A few fighters have been sponsored by alt coins. Firas Zahabi is a Canadian MMA coach, most notably for coaching UFC superstar champion Georges St. Pierre. The Canadian government recently shut down grappling tournaments in a few Canadian cities, and that impacted Firas Zahabi's grappling tournaments. Being the smart man he is, he skirted those laws by letting the competitors fight in their local gyms to complete the tournament. The winners were paid out in Bitcoin and Dash. Spectators to the YouTube live streamed tourney were also given bitcoin addresses to tip fighters.

I am using this account to do outreach to the jiu jitsu community, and eventually the mma community. Martial arts like jiu jitsu can be expensive for training and gear, and also involves a lot of travel. Many academies and instructors have a presence online and sell merch, DVDs, subscriptions, etc. Steemit would be a great platform for that business model.

And, of course, fighters wearing Steemit patches and logos, promote the platform. Match made in heaven.

Thanks for the comment and upvote @heymattsokol. I love your vlogs and music :)
