steemit 503-frustration
Last two days steemit.com almost consistently served me "503 Service Temporarily Unavailable".
well if i was to quantify ....
75% of the time it was consistent (503 no matter how many page reloads i tried),
10% of the time it managed to show page after couple reloads
15% of the time it worked well
... you can imagine how frustrating it can be for steemdict in training :P
I connect from Poland, steemd.com works flawlessly for me, and I did hear from friends in other parts of Europe they they didn't have as much problems as i did.
Situation got better just now, so using it to make my first post :)
If any of you had similar problems, add a comment, preferably with your country and their severity.
Was getting the same thing every other page load 2 nights ago. Only getting it occasionally today. Located in the US.
Also noticed a similar problem with 2 tabs open. Get a message about loosing connection on one tab then the 503 usually happens. If I stick to one tab don't seem to get it.
Hmm, i did have multiple tabs open, but most were in 503-state, waiting for next try to actually load and for me to read what is hiding under interesting title ...
just a hint: replace steemit.com with steemd.com and leave the rest of the link intact and there you go, issue solved ;)
of course for voting and others you'll have to use cli but still you can read all the posts
The one 2 nights ago was with one tab open. Didn't start using multiple tabs until later.
I think at some point i did rape my F5 too....but other wise it worked pretty smooth.
Now i know what was happening: After chrome crash, reloading of all steemit tabs must have triggered some anti-ddos protection on steemit site, cutting my ip off for a day or so ... frustrating
