Facebook is going through a black period, when the censorship and shutdown of users in bubbles start to take the place of free speech and debate. As a recent article published by the Vice, many have been blocked by Zuckerberg's inquisition for the slightest reasons and in situations where artificial intelligence has not distinguished the nuances of allegations. Post your Kanye West song "Niggas in Paris"? You get suspended one week for racism. Are you arguing with the anti-Semite service because he has a wrong attitude and exemplifies his vocabulary? You will have the surprise of discovering that you are sanctioned.
And censorship is not the only problem that Facebook has. As a regional court in Berlin has decreed, the practices of the social network in terms of personal data processing are totally illegitimate and not transparent. Furthermore, Mark Zuckerberg's network has come to ask for the real name for validation and can always block your account to request photos with your ID. It is a very common practice among those who choose not to post pictures on their own face and it is totally illegal for a private company to hold copies of identity papers and passports.
Another problem with Facebook is the preferential algorithm: in short, only the content you give most of your likes is displayed, which means you can end up being locked in a bubble or echo chamber where you never see a divergent opinion. Creating this false state of comfort and harmony eliminates basic elements of a democracy and may even favor the perpetuation or establishment of dictatorships. If we do not have debates and we block those who disagree with our views, then we contribute to the destruction of democracy. I will not even bother to detail how political regimes can exploit such a system to keep obedient and misinformed citizens, or the multitude of false news that distorts users' reporting to reality.
Fortunately, all of these issues are solved by Steemit: a social networking network built on block-chain technology, generating cryptomonads to pay for the published content and paying you for the likes you receive!
It sounds too good to be true, but Steemit has its own system based on reputation and influence, so high quality content that stands out to be noticed by other users and paid as it deserves. And the reality is that Facebook earns billions of dollars in user activity, but it does not give you anything back: although it collects money from the advertising paid by users and the content posted by users (the more photos or statuses you put, the more you do close friends to spend more time on the site to comment, which means that everyone is exposed to more advertisements!).
Steemit offers a generous part of the added value that users generate and urges community members to be creative and always bring something new. But once you find your areas of interest and start interacting with other members of the community, you already start to have the specific Reddit feeling: discover intelligent and willing people to have interesting debates. And your time is rewarded with money if you like the work you are doing, so you have no reason to complain!

The best way to punish the baker baking his bread in an infected environment is not to buy his products anymore. If Facebook has reached a stage of development when oppressing users for free speech and creating more problems than it does, then it has to be charged as it deserves. Sure, we can not give up some of the functions yet, but this migration process can be progressively done to remind the esteemed Zuckerberg that the power he has is also supported by us.
In all respects, Steemit is a more accurate and better network. It has its share of false news and poor quality articles, but each user has the power to sanction them. Power is not in an arbitrary artificial intelligence, but in users who contribute to generating content. And again, every positive appreciation is paid to encourage you to continue to grow and develop your style.
At the moment, Steemit is ideal for those who want to write (whether it's poetry, prose, diaries, news articles, comments) for photographers (yes, you can also get money for pictures you show to the community!) video enthusiasts (there is even an affiliate site called Dtube, which is trying to substitute YouTube based on the same concept of pay-as-you-like). Developers are constantly working to develop the platform and expand it to other areas, and the future is very promising for the Steemit and social networks built on a block of blocks.
