A big thank you to @mejustandrew! Thank you so much!
He just sent me 4.50 Steem 11 minutes ago!
Based on the current (2018.04.21, 15:45 CEST) Steem price ($2.98 USD), this currently means $13.41 USD.
I don't even know what to say now. I am very happy and very grateful!
This gives me inspiration and gets me closer to my goal a little bit!
When most of the people ignores me on Steemit, this feels especially very good!
Let's take a look at my situation (both on Steemit and in real life) and my goal with Steemit and why and how it could help me?
A few people, who reads my blog posts, knows that I live with multiple disabilities.
I live with autism spectrum disorder, dyscalculia and I am visually impaired.
Due to these disabilities, I rarely go outside and I rarely talk to/with people in person.
Mainly because the autism spectrum disorder, I have problems with personal communication.
Because of this, I am unable to make personal friends and I am unable to work.
But I have a very good hobby (maybe lifestyle), called amateur radio. The goal with Steemit related to this.
I live with a pension-like income, which is very low.
My total monthly income is 68 480 HUF, which is currently only $271,62 USD ($1 USD is currently 252.12 HUF).
Yes! You read that right! I live with less than $300 USD monthly.
This is possible in the countryside in Hungary, but not easy.
So I would be unable to reach my goal without the help of the community of Steemit.
My goal and how it will help me
My primary goal with Steemit is to earn enough money to be able to buy the Elecraft KX2 transceiver.
- I could talk to the world (could make contacts with amateur radio stations worldwide) with this radio.
- I could go outside with this radio and could make experiments with shortwave propagation. What (who) can I hear, who can hear me. I could talk with people. For some reason, I can easily talk with people on the radio in English and in Hungarian.
- Because of the above, I can maintain and improve my English listening/reading and speaking skills/knowledge. Why am I writing "reading" skills? The Elecraft KX2 is not just a simple radio. There is a built-in PSK31/RTTY function in the radio, so I could listen to and also transmit in these modes without a computer. With these modes, I could make and read text based communications anywhere with the the radio. The text is appear on the screen of the radio and I could send text by a morse key.
There is also a built-in microphone in the radio, so I could make contacts basically from anywhere.
With the proper band and the proper propagation, I could listen and talk to native English speakers.
The distance to England for me is only about 1500 km (depending on which part of the country I talking about), so it's not that hard.
A simple dipole antenna can do it (I already have one and an Inverted-V antenna).
Sometimes a simple antenna is good even for DX (long distance) contacts, when the propagation is good.
I mean intercontinental contacts, like more than 7-8000 km.
You can watch many good videos about these kind of contacts on YouTube, if you are interested.
How much is it and how much I currently have?
With the necessary accesories, this radio is currently overall costs $1130.70 USD.
The base radio is $769.95 USD.
The KXAT2 Internal, Wide-Range 20-W ATU (Antenna tuner): $185.95 USD.
The KXBT2 Lithium-ion Battery Pack; 11V, 2.6Ah: $59.95 USD.
The KXBC2 External Lithium-ion Fast Charger for KXBT2: $24.95 USD.
The PWR-BCEU - EU Power Cord: $9.95 USD.
The KXIO2 Real-Time Clock + General-Purpose Outputs: $79.95 USD.
So this is why overall $1130.70 USD.
I currently have these in my Steemit account:
- 237.339 Steem.
- 14.150 Steem Power.
- $71.363 SBD.
Based on the current (2018.04.21, 15:45 CEST) price of the Steem ($2.98 USD) and the Steem Dollars (SBD) ($3.11 USD), I currently have:
- 237.339 Steem = $707.270 USD.
- 14.150 Steem = $42.167 USD.
- $71.363 SBD = $221.938 USD.
This is overall $971.375, so I am getting close to $1000 USD.
I could cashout $929.208 USD at the moment.
But I don't. I wait, until I will have enough money to buy the radio.
Based on the numbers above, I am currently very close to it.

Of course there will be people reading, even with the lack of interaction right here. I really hope you will be able to buy the Elecraft KX2 transceiver. I don't know much about that technology and what it involves, but I get the main idea. Maybe you will be able to make a post about it when you buy the device, and don't forget to leave me a message when you do, because I really want to know you have succeeded.
Wish you good luck!
I will!
Based on the current prices, I am currently not far from there, but everything is depending on the price of the Steem and the Steem Dollars (SBD).
Thank you for your support again, and, of course, for the wish for the good luck.
I am (and a lot of people both on Steemit and in real life) going to need it.
I wish the same to you and to everyone else both in Steemit and in real life!
Have a nice day and have a nice weekend!
