I posted every day at least one post on Steemit for four months and this happened
photocontests rankingI am at 5th place, which is extremely good. So my photos must be good. I think these numbers are quite high. But anyway I earned 125$, which is not much. If you look at some profiles who earn this amount per post and sadly some even with bad content then this is not a good ratio. Well, I am wondering why is like this. And I am asking you Steemians for an answer. Please feel free and look at my blog. Please give some review and some suggestions for improvements.
How I am trying?
- I am posting my Steemit posts also on some discord promotion channel.
- My Tweeter channel is only for promoting Steemit content (Unfortunately I have only around 90 followers for now)
- I am participating every day on JulianK photocontest
- I am participating in discord channel Balkan Blockchain Network (there is one great room post curation, where I am pretty active)
- I post every day
- Almost all my content is original
- Most of the mine posts are proofread by proofreader (which costs a lot of money per month, this one isn't due to the writing at the airport)
- I am trying in a lot of tags, you can see I have posts from many different categories
- I am promoting my posts on Facebook Steemit groups
- I am commenting and upvoting other Steemians work
- I also tried with some resteem groups, but my experience is bad. Only losing SBD, not much effect.
- I have participated in many other writing contests and some graphic designing contests
- I have organized Give away ( will have soon new one, when we came to post about Gula Melaka)
- my posts are organized and centered with a lot of original photo material
- Upload some original footages on Dtube
- using PAL upvote
What will I try next before giving up
- upvoting my posts via bots. This is not my favorite tool but looks like some people are making a lot of new connections with this and promote their material well.
- I will upload all my photos on SteepShot
- I will be more involved in dtube channel. But that means more low-quality clips. Will think this through.
Please add your suggestions in reply and give me some advice for more stimulating future here on Steemit.

There is a saying on Steemit: "Come for the money, stay for the community". At the moment prices are so low that almost nobody receives decent earnings. But Steemit is so much fun and while I never stuck with any other social network, I love the community of interesting and smart people here, this is what makes me stay!
What you need to succeed on Steemit are people who regularly support you with upvotes. Building these connections takes time and patience and more than just posting, but connecting with other people, e.g. on the Steemit Travellers Discord.

What this guy said, steem price is ridicilously low. Even if we just consider the amount created and it's abilities as a virtual-currency, we will see that steem has to go higher eventually. It is easy to say I earned $ but hard to say I earned steem and sbd, since things are displayed as dollars.
Yes still far away from independence from fiat. But hey baby steps...

The bots that let people "buy votes" tend to saturate the bad content at the top of "trending". It isn't something that is economically viable - in the long run, those running the bots win.
Persist. Don't leave. It is hard to persist when you see poor content rise to the top. It is easy to get discouraged, but it is important to remember that as the platform grows, so do you.

As i told you before. At the moment it looks like this is the path for steemit. Buying votes for yourself. Either you jump on the train or let it ride past you. =)

I am just at the beginning of the same journey that you are on, and your post sadly supports what I suspect: simply having decent content and posting often just isn't enough in many cases.
I learned about Steemit through a newspaper article, and I'm not terribly informed on crypto and all that, but I thought, "why not?" Worst case scenario it could be a time waster, best case scenario I could actually make a bit of money, since I have the time.
Well, about a month in (not a lot of time, I realize), I am finding out that many or most of the popular posts are quite amateurish, spamish, or really quite similar to what I post, and I don't completely understand why they are popular. I use Reddit quite a bit, and popular posts there are popular for a reason. On Steemit, there seems to be no rhyme or reason why some posts are popular and some are not.
My plan is to continue my blog, just for fun, and see if it eventually turns popular, or just becomes a largely unpopular journal of my stuff. But, like you, I plan to continue to see where this journey goes.
