New rules made by RBI
Now the notes of 2000 and 200 rupees can be changed, new rules made by RBI
RBI has revised the rules for changing their notes. 2000 and 200 rupees notes are included in the new rules. In fact, these notes, which were brought after the banquoement, were small in size due to which they were in the old rule.
Keep in mind that when you take notes of 200 and 2000 rupees, cut or mutilated notes, then keep in mind. If these notes are lightly torn, they will be changed at full cost, but if there are more torn up, then you will get half price for it and it can happen that nothing can be availed of.
In fact, the Reserve Bank of India has amended its rules on mutilated or dirty notes. Notes of 200 and 2000 rupees were brought under the part of Mahatma Gandhi Series. At the same time, the RBI had eliminated any doubts in the minds of the people about changing the notes of 200 and 2000 rupees issued after the ban on release.
So far, there was a rule to change the mutilated or filthy notes of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100, 500 rupees, but people were having difficulty in changing the notes of 200 and 2000 rupees. 2000 and 200 rupees notes were issued in November 2016 and September 2017.
Due to the different sizes of these notes, they could not come under the old rule. The RBI had asked the Finance Ministry to clear the rules about new notes. RBI revised the refund rules of 2009. And that the notes of the new Mahatma Gandhi series will also be changed under this rule.
According to the Reserve Bank of India (Note Refund) Rule, 2018, for the full cost of 2000 notes, the customer has to give at least 88 square centimeters of the actual size of the note. Returning the square of 44 square centimeters, half the price of the note will be available. For the full value of 200 note, the customer should have at least 78 square centimeters of the actual size of the note and 39 square centimeters for half price.
The entire series can be paid 75 square centimeters of this Rs 100 rupee note. At the same time, 38 square centimeters for half price will be required. Only 72 square centimeters of 50 rupees note will get the full value of the customer and half the price on 36 square centimeters.
