Vanja Åvedal at the Native American Indian "Malibu Chumash Powwow" 2017
Hello Steemians,
Last year I had the amazing honor of going to a "Native American Indian Pow Wow" and it was amazing. LIving in Norway we don't have any Pow Wow's at all so this is something I always wanted to see in person. Thanks to my fiance @jeronimorubio who is "Apache" Indian, I, my son David and Jeronimo were able to go to the "Chumash Pow Wow" in Malibu California last year.
We had an amazing time. We had Indian Tacos and watch all the amazing dancers in their beautiful outfits (I believe they are called Regalia) dancing around the inner circle of the powwow. The drum circle is where the singers and drummers do all the music for the native people to dance.
The dancers were wearing such beautiful regalia and dancing with such energy and pride. It was a sight to see for real. I was so amazed at all the dancers that came to honor their culture. As you watch the video below, I hope you will see how beautiful the dancing was and how I was so happy to be there with all of the Native people.
This is an Intertribal Pow Wow every year which means that Native Indians from all nations get to come, dance and perform their cultural dances. Every year at the Chumash Malibu Pow Wow we are honored to have and see the "Aztec" dancers of Mexico perform their cultural dances. It truly was a thing of beauty.
Here are a few more pictures before entering the pow wow. There was a little park to sit down at that was honoring all the wildlife in Malibu. This park is to keep people aware of their surroundings and protect the wildlife. I took a few pictures to share with all of you.
I hope you enjoyed my trip to the Chumach MAilbu PowWow. Have a Blessed Day everyone. Love, Vanja Åvedal
We had such a Wonderful Time My Beautiful Princess @vanjaavedal. I am so happy that you, I (@jeronimorubio) and David were able to go to the Pow Wow in Malibu. Aren't the Chumash from Simi Valley and not Malibu @jeronimorubio? Either way, they are awesome people. Glad to see you both had a great time @vanjaavedal.
